For families
Set up Call A Grandkid for someone you love
Ten minutes with them now means they can get patient help any time you're busy. You don't need an account, and it's free for them.
On their phone or tablet
Open the app page
On an iPhone or iPad, open Safari. On Android, open Chrome. Go to callagrandkid.com/app.
Put it on the home screen
iPhone or iPad: tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Android: tap the three dots, then Add to Home screen or Install app. Put the green icon where they'll see it.
Allow the microphone
Tap the green button once together. When it asks to use the microphone (and the camera for video), tap Allow. A real helper will answer, so have a small question ready, or hang up and try later.
Our iPhone and Android apps are coming soon. When they're out, you'll be able to install them from the App Store or Google Play instead.
On their computer
Use Chrome or Edge
Go to callagrandkid.com/app on a Windows PC or a Mac. The computer needs a microphone, and a camera if they'd like to see their helper.
Make it easy to find
Bookmark the page, or drag the address onto the desktop, and name it "Call A Grandkid".
Allow the microphone
The first time they call, the browser asks to use the microphone and camera. Click Allow.
What to tell them
- Tap the green button, and a friendly helper answers
- They can ask anything about phones, tablets, computers and TVs
- "Is this a scam?" is a great question to ask
- Calls are recorded for their safety
Our helpers will never ask for money, passwords, codes or bank details. If anyone does, it isn't us: hang up. Call A Grandkid is not for emergencies. In an emergency, call 911.
